2013 Jet Steppers Mystery Caravan
This year's murder-Mystery Caravan was entitled "Slaughter in Seattle". The setting was a fictitious 1907 murder of a prominent state senator involved in some shady real estate deals ahead of the "planned" 1909 Seattle World Exposition. There were 31 "characters" in the drama (because there just happened to be 31 current and former Jet-Steppers who went on the caravan). Each character had clues to provide in the form of scripts prepared in advance by Linda R. We started at the Park and Ride in Renton, caravaned to the Argosy Cruise terminal on the Seattle waterfront, had a sack lunch at Ivar's, and took a cruise on the GoodTime III through the Ballard Locks before caravaning to Monroe for dinner. Eventually, the "murderer" was identified before we joined the Fern Bluff Squares at the Lake Stevens Grange hall in Monroe. It was their "Topsy Turvey" dance, so there was a lot of "cross-dressing" and inside-out outfits to enjoy. Fun Day!
